Do You Need To Reset and Refocus
Well this is that time of the year where everyone is talking about closing out 2016 with a bang and start planning your 2017. I am definitely here for it! However, in all our “closing out 2016” and “planning for 2017” have you sat back and taken inventory of the events that took place in your life this year to date?
As I have mentioned in my previous post (you can read it here) 2016 has been simply amazing for The Fabric Beautique and myself as I continue to build my brand. I had an awesome time at The Women Desperate for Jesus Conference in Dallas, Tx. Our Children’s Prayer Journals and Prayer Pillows launched and I absolutely love the design and the great reception to this new line of products. Of course, it goes without saying the ‘Wives Still Pray’ customizable Tshirts have been a hit! However, there were some missteps along the way in business as well as personally. There were some things I should have focused on this year that I totally forgot about or just completely put on the back burner.
So, for me as I begin to think about this last quarter of the year and begin planning for 2017, I’m hitting the reset button. I don’t want to just take those missteps as “oh well, I lived and learned… moving on” type of attitude. Personally, I want to write down why I took some of those missteps. Was it me being anxious, inpatient, did I fall for the “hype” from some people I looked up to? Or, was it truly my lack of knowledge in a particular area that had me take the misstep. Either way, I’m resetting, writing it down and submitting my next steps to God. According, to Jeremiah 33:3, I can ask God whatever I want, “Call to me and I will answer you and tell you great and unsearchable things you do not know”. I’m the first to admit there is A LOT I do not know, so who better to get me together than my Father in Heaven.
God has NEVER failed me and God always allows me to get back in my lane, he was just waiting on me to get it together – LOL, and that’s what is so exciting! I have made my request known to God and you know what, just like in Philippians 4: 6-7 (Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus) God has answered.
As you plan to close out your 2016 with a bang and begin planning for 2017, take a step back first, take inventory of where you may have gotten off track in 2016 and why. Then repent to God, because getting off track just means we begin operating outside of our purpose. Finally, ask God to lead and guide you the rest of 2016 and to lead and direct you into 2017.
If this resonates with you, please leave a comment below. Also, stay tuned, in our next blog I will be discussing what seems to be this season of everyone saying “quite your job, your job isn’t loyal”. A mass Exodus from your 9 to 5 isn’t always the answer, it very well may be part of the solution towards your journey to entrepreneurship.
Until Next Time, Be Blessed!
