My Experience with a Business Coach!
A couple of weeks ago, I took a business trip that would clarify the path of my brand! Let me first back up to the fall of 2015, I had joined the interwebs of Periscope. I had not intentions on joining another social media platform……because there are so many and how many can you be on anyway? Well, needless to say, I took the plunge and boy was it a lot of information pouring in all at once, but the difference is, it’s all LIVE! Yep, no editing, you just go with the flow.
Well, as I began following various broadcasters on Periscope I realized how great this platform is for entrepreneurs. I began learning about business coaching, branding, marketing and more! After following a few people for a while and signing up for a few webinars I knew that I needed a business coach, I needed help with executing. Not just any business coach, I had criteria: must be married, must be in my age bracket, must be a woman of God and must have achieved what I desire to achieve as a budding entrepreneur. Well, enter in Felicia Phillips, she meets all of the criteria, and the bonus, she’s been an entrepreneur for over 25 years!
Before I decided to work with Felicia, I followed her on social media and watched content she brought to the table to make sure it would be a good fit. As I was praying and asking God about my collaborations, partnerships and alliances (Isaiah 30:1, NIV), I was watching a Periscope Felicia was doing where she offered an opportunity to collaborate on an event on January 19, 2016, which I wrote about HERE. Soon after that, Felicia and I spoke and planned my one-day intensive in Atlanta, Georgia for the 2nd quarter of this year!
Fast forward to April 7th, I arrived in Atlanta, a car was sent to pick me up and off I went to have a FUN photoshoot! Kim Honora of Kim’s Photography was the Photographer . If you are in the Atlanta, GA area you can find more information about her HERE. It took me some time to get used to the camera (I’m a behind the scenes type of girl), but nonetheless I warmed up and everything turned out FANTASTIC! Then the following day was my one-day intensive and YES, it was exactly that I-N-T-E-N-S-I-V-E! God had already given me the vision for myself as an entrepreneur, which was clear to me. What wasn’t so clear was how to execute it all; and that’s what Felicia helped me to clarify. I can now say there is brand clarity!! As this journey continues to unfold (there is more to come) I wanted to share with you three simple suggestions before choosing a Business Coach:
Pray and ask God about the type of coach you need. Speak God’s word back to him, Jeremiah 29: 11-14 and Isaiah 30:1. God will surely direct your path as I’m a living witness.
Financial Investment – only you can determine the financial investment you can make in order to achieve the goals you desire to achieve. Do not compare or feel bad about the investment you choose to make. Your investment is your sacrifice. Trust me, free webinars & low-cost classes are GREAT, but they can only help you so much and get you so far! What are you willing to sacrifice? God will make a provision for the vision he has given you (Isaiah 43:19).
Get ready to work! Once you have invested your time and money with a business coach, it’s time to get to work! Don’t just sit back and think everything will manifest on its own. Time to get to work!!
