Christmas Cheers!
"When they saw the star, they were overjoyed", Matthew 2:10 NIV
Chestnuts roasting on an open fire, Jack Frost nipping at your nose………well, if you can imagine me singing this you would tell me to STOP! Merry CHRISTmas!! Well, I know it’s technically a couple of days before Christmas, but I wanted to send my well wishes early to you and your family!
I pray that this season of shopping, buying, running to and from, that you find time to just thank God for bringing you through another holiday year. However, it’s not just any Holiday, this is when we, as Christians, are celebrating what we have come to know as the birth of Jesus Christ. As I have matured in my walk with God and studying his word more, I realize that this time of the year really has nothing to do with buying gifts or spending money (for some going into unnecessary debt), but truly a time of reflection. As I stated in the previous blog, there is a lot to be truly thankful for. You or even someone you may know may have experienced a loss of a loved one or a dear friend, one thing we know there is always life in Jesus Christ.
Take the time to reconnect with loved ones, family or friends. Something as easy as a quick call, text message, email or even putting a card in the mail, can truly put cheer in someone’s day. Let’s all remember the reason for this season, to celebrate the birth of Jesus Christ, our personal Lord and Savior! Pray with or intercede for someone you know that maybe going through a difficult time during this season, as that may be the BEST gift they could ever receive.
Have a wonderful and blessed Christmas from my family to yours!
“And pray in the Spirit on all occasions with all kinds of prayers and requests. With this in mind, be alert and always keep on praying for all the Lord’s people” (Ephesians 6:18, NIV)
