In Person Vending Events & Sharing Our Ideas For Indoor and Outdoor Setup
Many have missed the interaction with small businesses at events such as craft fairs, whether indoor or outdoor. We took a break from vending events in 2020, but decided to put our foot back in the water this year and so far it’s been really great. Now, as with any vending event, you have your ups and downs. You never can “guarantee” an outcome of vending events. Events range from being super busy with lots of selling, super busy with very low or moderate selling or a slow event and no selling at all. This year we’ve experienced the gambit. No matter the outcome of the event, we do take stock and use feedback we receive during the events to make changes or make some updates.
One of the major changes we made was adding an additional table to our setup, as well as spreading out our products more and adding pricing tags. We found at both our recent outdoor and indoor events that this was a vast improvement. You may be surprised, but usually when people are walking about at events such as this, they typically don’t like to ask questions of the vendors. They want to see the prices and not have to guess we have found that more people are staying longer at our booths. I attribute that to the new table setup. Previously, we only used one 6ft table and a stand and packed as much product as we could in that space and clearly that wasn’t enough. We are very pleased with the current setup and it’s giving us more ideas because we will be expanding our product line, so that will mean a few additional displays will be added.
